"That was a relieving victory but naturally, after the start that could have got ugly, but they showed a lot of fight," Peters said. "12-12 at half-time, yeah it wasn't perfect but I wanted to see some fight from the group and they certainly showed that."

Hull FC had entered the derby on an eight-match losing streak against their rivals. The Black and Whites' coach acknowledged the turning point came in the closing stages. "The Burgess try was a back-breaker," he stated. "Got to give credit to Hull KR, they were the better team."
